What is your turn around time?
Although not usual, it is possible that an order might
not pass our inspection at the time of shipping which could cause a delay.
We are rather picky about quality which most of our customers appreciate.
Even though we have many safeguards to prevent delays we cannot guarantee
a delivery date. Whenever possible we are glad to accommodate late arrivals
if we are alerted in advance. We also have virtually all forms of express
shipping available should this be needed. Our turn-around
time works this way. We begin all orders on Monday of each week, which includes
anything arriving Monday. If your order is black & white, it should leave
on Friday of that same week. If color, it should leave the second Friday.
Travel time will vary depending on the delivery address. Usual delivery
times are 2 business days for the mid-west and 4 business days to the coasts.

Can you change my color photo to black & white?
Yes. We do it very well. No extra charge.
Top
How much typesetting will you allow on my prints.
We do not set a specific limit and we are very liberal. Normally the space available for type will naturally set the limit. Extra charge for type would apply in cases where there is more type than picture in the layout. A small picture on a resume would be a good example. We would request your approval for any extra charge for typesetting.

Do I get my original back?
Yes, we will normally send it back with your prints if it will fit in the box. If it does not fit, we will normally send it back by First Class U.S. mail. We do not insure your original or assume responsibility for loss or damage to your original while in transit.

What is the smallest photo I can send?
Snapshot size, 4" x 6", unless we are using only a portion
of the image, in which case we might need a larger photo. You can call our
toll free number, 1-888-526-5336, and give us the size of the area on your
photo that you want to use and we can quickly tell you if it will work.

Your examples show a vertical or 'portrait' orientation.
Can you also do horizontal (landscape) layouts?
Yes, no problem...no extra charge. Normally we will do the picture as it is, landscape or portrait, but on request we can take a portion of a photo and crop and enlarge it to change the orientation. Again, no extra charge.

Can I pay for a rush service?
We cannot rush the process in plant, however, we can arrange special shipping for all or part of your order. The cost is determined by the speed needed and the weight of the product being shipped. Our customer service personnel can calculate this for you quickly if you call our toll free number, 1-888-526-5336, and discuss your needs with them.

Will you ship to another country?
We ship only to addresses in the United States, Canada, and U.S. Territories. U.S. service personnel may sometimes receive our products through the armed forces delivery system. The cost of shipping, customs documentation required and customs duty tax makes shipping to other foreign countries very costly, slow and uncertain thus we do not offer this service. Delivery to Canada is available and at a reasonable cost, however, customs duty applied by Canadian authorities seems to be rather unpredictable and will be the responsibility of the customer.

Can you use negatives or slides?
Do not send negatives or slides. Your best reproductions will come from using an 8x10 photo or high resolution digital file with guide print.

Will litho prints work for reprint in publications?
Since litho prints are printed and are comprised of microscopic dots, the process of reproducing the picture for a publication will require some minimal extra handling by the publication. This is necessary to avoid a checkered look called a "moire pattern". Virtually all publications now have the ability to "descreen" a litho picture for good reproduction. Although we cannot vouch for the ability of every publication to do this, it should be no problem.

Do you accept mail that arrives on Saturday?
Due to the large amounts of mail we receive, we do have a drop box for Saturday mail. Though, we advise you not to spend any extra money to have a package arrive on Saturday. Anything that arrives on Monday will begin processing.

Can you accept digital files?
Yes, we do accept compatible digital files. Please
see Digital File Guidelines on this website. It is advisable to avoid doing the scanning yourself
unless you are trained in computer graphic art. Our scanners are the top
of the line and our expertise is extensive. If you had your photos taken digitally or have had retouching done, we can work from a high resolution digital file. High resolution is 300 dpi at 100% of final size. Sending a guide print for reference is helpful, though we do not offer an exact match to the guide print. If you
are doing your own photoshop work, you can send us a compatible digital
file. Again, if you are not trained to do photoshop we offer expert retouching
starting at $25.

What is a litho?
Lithos are made on a printing press and if you look at them under magnification are made up of little tiny dots. Though they look like photos they do not cost like photos. This is their distinct advantage. They are great when you need high quality images in large quantities. Actors, models and entertainers all over America use lithos by the thousands--we know because we are printing them.

Can you color match?
We cannot offer an exact match, though we will come close. We pay particular attention to hair, eyes and skin tones, as well as an overall pleasing color balance.
